The Northeast Coast & Yilan Coast National Scenic Area, originally named the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area, is a distinctive scenic area in northeastern Taiwan renowned for its exceptional geological landscapes and historical significance. Situated in Taiwan’s northeast, it ranges from Nanya Village in Ruifang District, New Taipei City in the north, to the southern cape of Neipi Beach in Su’ao Township, Yilan County in the south. With a coastline totaling 102.5 kilometers and a combined sea-and-land area of 17,421 hectares, it is one of the most beautiful and famous scenic areas in Taiwan.

Nestled between mountains and the sea, the Northeast Coast & Yilan Coast National Scenic Area features a lineup of bays and capes, and boasts a wealth of natural wonders including Bitou Cape, Golden Sand Bay, and Honeymoon Bay. The area is characterized by rugged, uniquely shaped rocks, spectacular sea-eroded landforms, and soft, golden sandy beaches—each showcasing the awe-inspiring power of nature. This stunning natural landscape has also fostered a rich cultural heritage and local traditions, leaving behind historic sites such as the Caoling Historic Trail.
