The Eternal Water Chapel is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Eternal Water Chapel is located next to the Shangri-La’s Dorchester Resort by the Dongshan River in Yilan. It is a waterfront chapel specially designed for romantic weddings. Its name carries deep meaning—the English name is a very romantic European one, derived from the combination of the Italian words "acqu" (water) and "vita" (eternity). The chapel took nearly two years to complete.

The chapel built in the middle of the water was a first in Taiwan. Coupled with its beautiful exterior and dreamy atmosphere, the Water Chapel gained instant fame upon its opening. Its official launch coincided with the centennial year of the Republic of China, riding the wave of the century wedding boom. Couples could enjoy a fairytale-like and exquisitely beautiful wedding scene without spending a fortune traveling abroad, making it a top choice as a wedding venue for many couples. In addition to its colorful small domes, the entire chapel is based on a holy white tone both inside and out, appearing especially pristine under the night sky. The interior is decorated in pure white, complemented by crystal chandeliers, white long-row seating, and a white piano, giving every couple standing at the altar a sense of sanctity.

Extending outside the main entrance is a waterfront corridor that connects the Water Chapel to the shore. The sides of the corridor are enclosed with transparent glass railings, and at the far end stands a Bell of Happiness, corresponding to the Water Chapel. As the wedding ceremony concludes and guests exit the chapel, the ringing of the Bell of Happiness carries the blessings of all attendees, leaving the newlyweds with heartfelt memories.
