On the hillside on the southern shore of Meihua Lake stands Sanching Temple, the headquarters of Taoism across Taiwan. It enshrines the three highest deities of Taoism: the Supreme Jade Pure Yuan Shi Tian Zun, the Supreme Shang Qing Ling Bao Tian Zun, and the Supreme Tai Qing Dao De Tian Zun, collectively known as the "Three Pure Ones," which is also the origin of the temple’s name. The temple promotes the Taoist values of diligence, serenity, and learning. The entire complex exudes solemnity with an air of grandeur. The main hall, the Three Pure Ones Hall, is richly built and magnificent, featuring a Nine-Dragon Wall at the front, with connecting corridors on both sides that reflect the distinctive characteristics of palace architecture. In front of the Cultural Building stands a Nine-Dragon Screen, with 18 vividly carved dragons on its front and back walls, all meticulously sculpted from Fujian green bluestone. Standing in the temple square, visitors enjoy a wide-open view — in the distance, they can take in the panoramic vista of the Lanyang Plain, while up close, the full beauty of Meihua Lake unfolds before their eyes.

Transportation Tips: Take the Yixing Bus bound for Hanxi from in front of Luodong Railway Station, get off at De’an Village stop, and walk about 15 minutes to reach the temple.
