Introduction Asahi Hot Springs is situated among the jagged coral rocks along the southeastern coast of Green Island. It is one of the few saltwater hot springs in the world, characterized by its sulfuric composition. However, it does not have a pungent sulfur odor, nor does it leave your skin feeling sticky after use, which is quite special. Seawater hot springs are incredibly rare worldwide—only one is known to exist in Japan and another in Italy—making this one quite a curiosity. Currently, the Eastern Coast Scenic Area has built three circular pools at different temperatures for visitors to enjoy. You can soak in the thermal baths while taking in the island’s scenic beauty of blue sea and sky. At night, with a sky full of stars overhead, it offers a truly unique experience. If you wish to watch the sunrise, you can also come here around 3 or 4 in the morning to soak in the hot springs and greet the dawn.
