The Puyuma Express will begin trial runs to Taitung today. City buses offer seamless connections.

The 402nd Puyuma Express trial run to Taitung today is scheduled to depart Taipei at 6:20 AM and arrive in Taitung. The official service launches on July 1, allowing travelers to reach Taitung Railway Station in just 3.5 hours via the fast Puyuma train. Meanwhile, Taitung has also planned an immediately connecting city bus—"Puyuma Bus"—enabling visitors to start exploring right upon arrival without waiting. Additionally,the newly added Taipei-Taitung Taroko Express trains from July 1 to July 5 are offering an across-the-board 20% discount on fares, but tickets have already sold out.。

Taitung County Government stated that in conjunction with the electrification project completion, both residents and visitors can ride all city buses—including land, sea, air, and sightseeing loop lines—free of charge throughout July. From August onward, Taitung residents and workers can continue to enjoy free rides until the end of June next year (2015). Visitors to Taitung can avail of a NT$100 one-day pass or a NT$150 two-day pass. Taiwan Tourist Shuttle services operated by Dingdong Mountain and Sea Lines, which run alongside city buses, also offer a 10% discount on multi-day passes. The newly launched Taitung city buses cater to medical visits, students, shoppers, daily needs, hotel guests, and tourists.Buses run from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily, with intervals no longer than 30 minutes.They are also integrated with six 1–3 day light travel routes in Taitung.
