Cycling as a way to travel offers both physical activity and relaxation. Whether you’re taking a laid-back bike ride for a light journey or embarking on an energetic island-wide trip like in the movie “Island Etude,” hopping on a bicycle helps you unwind from the stresses of daily life. Riding at your own leisurely pace, you can admire Taitung’s beautiful blue waters and green mountains, as well as its artsy and cultural creative shops. Originally named the Taitung City Loop Bicycle Path, the Mountain-Sea Bicycle Path connects major attractions around Taitung city. Starting from the Taitung Railway Art Village, the route includes sights such as the old Taitung Train Station, Liyu Mountain, the old railway corridor, then turns onto the Pilu Irrigation Canal toward the Water Resources Park, and continues along the Beinan River to Taitung Forest Park, Taitung Seaside Park, and all the way to Taiping River... and more. Along the way, you’ll be accompanied by mountains, water, and the boundless beauty of the Pacific Ocean, allowing you to take in the full splendor of Taitung.
