Recognizing the potential of Taitung’s tourism industry, the Nanfeng International Hotel Group has built its second hotel“Nanfeng Iron Flower Inn”in the heart of Taitung. Guests staying on higher floors can enjoy panoramic views of downtown Taitung and the Pacific Ocean. The hip Railway Art Village is right next door. It officially opened on July 29.
The “Nanfeng Iron Flower Inn,” formerly an abandoned hotel that had been unused for years, has been completely renovated. Chen Huixuan, PR from the marketing department of the Nanfeng International Hotel Group, also mentioned that many cyclists, surfers, and motorbike enthusiasts love visiting Taitung to cycle along the coast or hit the waves. That’s why they chose a central location, and the hotel’s public spaces incorporate many sporty elements, along with a specialty sports shop.

Currently, the hotel has 109 rooms in total, divided into five types: Deluxe Room, Standard Queen Room, Standard Twin Room, Iron Flower Family Room, and Iron Flower Suite. Prices range from NT$2,500 to NT$5,500. Staff noted that if requested, twin rooms can be combined into one large bed. Additionally, every guest room displays photos representing Taitung landscapes, such as the Duoliang Train Station and Aboriginal Harvest Festivals, allowing guests to admire the beauty of Taitung from their rooms.

However, guests should note that while the rooms provide toiletries such as toothbrushes, towels, and cotton swabs, and even include a scale, there is only one bottle of 3-in-1 body wash provided. Therefore, it is recommended that guests bring their own preferred shampoo, conditioner, etc.

For dining, Nanfeng Iron Flower Inn combines American and Southeast Asian styles to launch a Southeast Asian music restaurant. The menu includes signature dishes like Hainanese chicken rice, Thai larb pork, Penang-style grilled fish, as well as American burgers and risotto. On Friday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday, the hotel offers an “All-You-Can-Eat Red & Green Dual Main Courses” service. Guests can choose two main courses from six options, paired with a buffet, starting from NT$580+10% service charge for adults and NT$380+10% for children. There will also be live singers on weekends, ensuring a relaxing evening for guests.
“Nanfeng Iron Flower Inn” officially opened on July 29. On opening day, local percussion band Amis Gagay and lion and dragon dance performances were specially invited to liven up the event, showcasing the rich Aboriginal culture of the area.

Taitung County Magistrate Huang Jian-ting stated that the location chosen for “Nanfeng Iron Flower Inn” has geographical advantages. Not only is it situated in the city center, but it will also connect with the upcoming Iron Flower New Business District, extending all the way to the Taitung Bus Station and the Aboriginal Cultural and Creative Cluster. In the future, this area will become Taitung’s most important commercial hub.
Huang Jian-ting also pointed out that after Typhoon Nepartak, about 80% of Taitung’s recovery has been completed. The rebuilt Taitung will be better, safer, and more beautiful than before, showing travelers that “Taitung is still beautiful.”
