Taitung Green Island

Green Island is located on the eastern sea of Taitung County, 18 nautical miles from Taitung. Covering an area of 15.034 square kilometers, it is the fourth largest island in the province after Penghu, Orchid Island, and Fisherman's Island. Most of Green Island’s main scenic spots are situated along a roughly 16.3-kilometer-long concrete coastal road, including Nanliao Bay, Green Island Lighthouse, Green Island Park, General Rock, Arch Gate Rock, Guanyin Cave, Pomelo Lake, Sea Cucumber Flat, Green Island Hot Springs, Sail Nose, Horseshoe Bridge, Lobster Cave, Ghost Cave, among others. In addition, facilities such as the Zhongliao Beach Park, marina, and diving base are under continuous development, elevating Green Island into a premier destination for sightseeing and vacation. Snorkeling, submarine rides, and glass-bottom boat tours have emerged as popular water activities on the island, especially snorkeling and submarine excursions.
