Jialeshui

Jialeshui is located in Manzhou Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan, and is a well-known attraction within Kenting National Park. Originally called Jialuoshui, which means "waterfall" in Hokkien, in 1975 then-Premier Chiang Ching-kuo visited the area and renamed it Jialeshui, drawing from the phrase "peace and prosperity." He also named the previously unnamed waterfall "Shanhai Waterfall." After being bestowed with these names by a prominent figure, the scenic site gained widespread fame, leading to a sharp increase in visitor numbers.

Bordering the vast Pacific Ocean, Jialeshui features sandstone and coral reefs that have been eroded over time by strong winds and waves, creating a variety of uniquely shaped rock formations. Examples include Turtle Rock, Rabbit Rock, Ball Rock, Checkerboard Rock, and Honeycomb Rock, which are spread across the two-and-a-half-kilometer coastline, showcasing the awe-inspiring power of nature. In addition, the area boasts rich flora and fauna. Colorful schools of fish such as damselfish, lobsters, abalones, limpets, and mudskippers can be seen thriving among the crevices in the coastal rocks and in the pools. Moreover, the area is influenced by the Kuroshio Current, which brings fast-moving, high waves and attracts large migratory fish, making it an ideal spot for deep-sea fishing.
