Fall in Love with Sun Pingtung – Great Deals at the Taichung International Travel Fair

Although Typhoon Morakot last year severely damaged Pingtung County, it could not crush the local residents’ passion for their homeland. At the 2010 Taichung International Travel Fair, the Pingtung County theme pavilion will take “We’re All Good, LoveSun Pingtung” as its theme, inviting the public to experience the new beauty of Pingtung through the warmth of its people, the azure ocean, and its rich culture.

The 2010 Taichung International Travel Fair will be grandly held from April 23 to 26 at the Taichung World Trade Center. The Pingtung County theme pavilion, themed “We’re All Good, LoveSun Pingtung,” showcases Pingtung after the disaster. Through the love of its residents for their hometown and strong support from all sectors, Pingtung remains a sunny, passionate, and vibrant city. The theme of this travel fair also highlights Pingtung’s unique natural landscapes and diverse cultural beauty. The event features heartfelt song and dance performances by indigenous friends, as well as energetic street dance shows, aiming to let the audience experience the boundless vitality of southern Taiwan.

In addition to exciting performances, interactive games such as “Onion Hula Hoop” and “Pingtung Lucky Spin” will be arranged on-site. Participants can win gifts featuring Pingtung’s signature produce — onions — along with various exquisite prizes, and even stand a chance to win free accommodation vouchers. This year at the Taichung International Travel Fair, the Pingtung County theme pavilion is jointly promoted by the Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Administration, Maolin National Scenic Area Administration, Indigenous Peoples Cultural Park Administration, Kenting National Park, Hengchun Peninsula Tourism Doubling Industry Alliance, and the county government to showcase Pingtung’s distinctive tourist attractions.

The exhibition design continues last year’s iconic giant blackfin tuna model, along with marine ecological elements such as coral reefs and sandy shores, local agricultural specialties like wax apples and bananas, as well as indigenous totem designs, presenting Pingtung’s abundant natural resources and cultural features to all visitors.
