Pingtung City is located in the northwest of Pingtung and is part of the Greater Kaohsiung metropolitan area. This year’s National Day fireworks returned to Pingtung after a 12-year hiatus, and this time they even featured the longest fireworks show ever — 42 minutes. This year’s National Day fireworks plan includes the launch of over 16,000 shells, reaching a maximum height of 200 meters and a width of 400 meters. The shell layout design features a depth of about 30 meters front to back, with high and low fireworks creating layers of effects. Following the tradition of Taiwan Lantern Festival’s Intel drone show, specially composed music was created, and the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra was also invited to perform live, delivering a stunning visual and auditory experience for the public.

“Craftsmen Town” is a creative space planned by Pingtung County for young professionals. Currently, there are 25 teams stationed here, including canteens, woodworking studios, coffee shops, pork shops run by pig farmers, toy labs, leather and silver jewelry workshops, and various other diverse industries. More artisans are expected to join in the future. During the day, Craftsmen Town has markets to explore and performances to enjoy, while at night, there are dreamy light displays. Victory Road Post Office is adjacent to the old military dependents' village “Victory Star Village,” so the renovation specially incorporated elements from the village. The building’s two side walls feature giant hand-painted stamps full of retro charm, making it truly unique. The renovated exterior of the post office looks like a fairy-tale house, and the front wall has a cuckoo clock mechanism. Every day from the afternoon to the evening on the hour, the post office’s symbolic animal — the “pigeon” — pops out from the building’s door panel, the clock chimes, and monkey, Shiba Inu, and black cat figurines dressed as mail carriers also join in the hourly performance, full of childlike fun!
