Located at an altitude of 285 meters in Mudan Township, Mudan Elementary School has created a campus filled with love. With the vision of “learning while strolling on a rainbow,” the school has introduced installations such as the “Rainbow Stairs,” the “LOVE Mudan” landscape bench, and the “Rainbow Chairs.” These colorful elements have turned the school space into a beautiful rainbow forest elementary school.

3. The Most 【Trendy】 Check-in Spot: Gaoping Old Iron Bridge (Xiaodanshui Creek Iron Bridge)
Also known as the “Xiaodanshui Creek Iron Bridge,” the Gaoping Old Iron Bridge is located between Liukuaicuo Station and Jioujiutang Station on the Taiwan Railway. Built in 1913, it spans approximately 1,526 meters, making it the longest iron bridge in Taiwan at the time and once ranked as the longest bridge in Asia. Designed and supervised by Japanese architect Iida Toyoo, the bridge features 24 iron-gray, arc-shaped steel arches supported by piers constructed from a mix of brick, stone, and granite—still standing majestically to this day.

6. The Most 【Youthful】 Check-in Spot – Youth Innovation Base: Rainbow Container
Constructed using 53 repurposed shipping containers, the design incorporates high ceilings and open spaces to draw airflow indoors, along with rooftop greening. This clever application of low-carbon green building principles not only addresses the hot climate of southern Taiwan but also turns the containers’ vibrant colors and a two-story colorful slide into a hotspot for young people to take photos. The project has even won a Special Award in the Best Planning and Design category at the National Excellence in Construction Awards.

7. The Most 【Divine】 Photo Spot: Nanzi Shujiao Bible Museum
To celebrate the 140th anniversary of its establishment, the Pingtung Presbyterian Church created Taiwan’s first “Bible Museum.” The magnificent and sacred Baroque-style building houses nearly 200 Bibles in different languages and from various eras. Indoor visits require advance booking by phone.

8. The Most 【Artistically Endless】 Photo Spot: Nalali Tribe
After Typhoon Morakot in 2009, residents from Maga Village in Majia Township, Dashe Village in Sandimen Township, and Haocao Village in Wutai Township relocated here to permanent homes, which were named the “Nalali” Tribe, meaning “a place where we walk together and go there as one.” Surrounded by mountains and forests, the tribe’s two-story European-style permanent homes are neatly arranged, creating picturesque scenery and earning it the nickname “Provence of Taiwan.”

9. The Most 【Loving】 Photo Spot: Taishan Elementary School Mural (Pingpu Mother and Child)
On the kindergarten building of Taishan Elementary School, there is a large mosaic collage depicting a Pingpu woman carrying her sleeping child on her back. The image is based on a photograph taken in the 19th century by British photographer John Thomson. No matter how times change, a mother’s love remains deeply moving and heartwarming.

10. The Most 【Fresh】 Photo Spot: Chaozhou Sulin Tree-lined Avenue
This approximately 1.2-kilometer-long green corridor is lined with nearly 500 small-leaved banyan trees on both sides, forming a beautiful green tunnel that offers a soothing experience for both walking and cycling.

The Pingtung Tourism Bureau stated that to welcome everyone to take photos at Pingtung’s ten “Most” photo spots, a special check-in campaign has been launched. From now until August 31, take photos at any three of the photo spots (with another person in the shot), combine them into one image, and upload it to the “i Pingtung ~ Love Pingtung” Facebook fan page. Tag the location and leave a comment saying “I love Pingtung” to enter the lucky draw. Ten lucky winners will receive the travel book “Ping Shui Shan Feng” and a Pingtung cultural creative square scarf.
