While the whole of Taiwan celebrates the festive season, Taipei has the New Taipei City Christmasland, and Pingtung has both the Pingtung Christmas Festival and the Wanhua Christmas Season. The 2018 Pingtung Christmas Festival embraced a pink, dreamy theme, with snowflakes falling from the sky on Christmas Eve to create a strong northern atmosphere; while the long-running Wanhua Christmas Season focuses this year on solemn and serene religious ceremonies and events.

The 2018 Pingtung Christmas Festival adopted a pink Christmas theme, setting up many dreamy, girly lights and facilities in Pingtung Park, such as a glamorous pink-and-gold carousel and a series of pink-themed light installations, making Pingtung Park a popular Instagram hotspot recently.
In addition to various cute and dreamy photo spots, the Pingtung Christmas Festival also hosts a series of Christmas activities starting in December. From now until December 25th, every weekend evening features surprise appearances by Santa Claus, carol singing, and candy distribution. Weekend holidays also include bubble shows loved by children, as well as fun activities like Christmas face painting and Grandma Christmas costume performances.
Even more surprising, on December 23rd and 24th, you can witness the first-ever snowfall in ever-spring-like Pingtung. The Pingtung County Government will deploy snow machines to transform Pingtung Park into a fairytale snowy wonderland with snowflakes drifting in the wind.
