Checheng Fuan Temple

Checheng Fuan Temple is located in Checheng Township, Pingtung County, at the southernmost tip of Taiwan. It is reputed to be the largest temple dedicated to the Earth God (Tudigong) in all of Taiwan and even Southeast Asia. The temple is said to possess remarkable divine power, having blessed the local community for 300 years. As the spiritual center of Hengchun, the main hall houses a statue of Tudigong adorned with numerous gold medals. Legend has it that during the Qing Dynasty, the statue was honored and bestowed with a royal crown and a dragon robe by Emperor Qianlong, making it the most majestic and imposing Tudigong statue in the entire province.
