Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf

Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is located on the right bank of the mouth of the Tamsui River in Tamsui Township, Taipei County. Formerly known as Tamsui Second Fishing Port, it was completed in 1987 (the 76th year of the Republic of China). Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf lies to the east of the Datun Mountain Range and faces Guanyin Mountain across the Tamsui River to the west, offering an unobstructed view of the world-renowned "Tamsui Sunset." In order to improve fishing port operations and the living environment of fishing villages, the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, designated this site as a multi-functional demonstration fishing port starting in 1998 (the 87th year of the Republic of China), allocating substantial funding. The wharf is planned to be developed into a high-quality park that supports both fisheries development and tourism and leisure. It has successfully evolved toward diversified port functions. Currently, after land reclamation and construction, it has become an important venue for tourism, activities, and leisure in Taipei County. The wharf is lined with numerous fishing boats and cruise ships and is now frequently used as a filming location for commercials.
