As Lunar New Year draws near, the cherry blossom season is also approaching. This year, the New Taipei City Government will hold the “2014 New Taipei City Cherry Blossom Season – Cherry Blossom Mini Tour” event, and its photography contest is starting early. It allows all “cherry blossom photography masters” to not only admire the beautiful Taiwan mountain cherries but also capture the connection between the blossoms and New Taipei City’s culture through their lenses, leaving the most beautiful testimony for this year’s “Cherry Blossom Mini Tour.”

Amidst the excitement of the New Year celebrations, cherry blossoms across all 29 districts of New Taipei City are getting ready to bloom. With the accumulation of cold fronts and low temperatures, they are set to shine brilliantly this year. From late January to the end of March 2014, the New Taipei City Government will hold a series of events under the “2014 New Taipei City Cherry Blossom Season – Cherry Blossom Mini Tour,” allowing the public to explore New Taipei City during the Spring Festival and admire this beautiful “romantic cherry blossom city.” For those who can’t wait, don’t worry — the “Cherry Blossom Mini Tour” photography contest kicks off today. This year...New Taipei City’s first blush of cherry blossom has already appeared at a hidden gem — the Hsiao Ko Tou Nursery, where lovely dots of pink adorn the elegant tree trunks, building anticipation for the full bloom to come.
