New Taipei’s Romantic Cherry Blossom Season Photography Contest Kicks Off Early

As Lunar New Year approaches, the cherry blossom season draws nearer. This year, the New Taipei City Government will host the “2014 New Taipei City Cherry Blossom Season – Cherry Blossom Mini Tour” event, and its photography contest has arrived ahead of schedule to let all “cherry blossom photographers” capture not only the beauty of Taiwan’s mountain cherries but also the connection between the blossoms and New Taipei City’s culture and humanity, creating the most beautiful memories of this year’s “Cherry Blossom Mini Tour.”

Amid the excitement of the New Year, cherry blossoms across New Taipei City’s 29 districts are ready to bloom, gathering strength through successive cold fronts and low temperatures, poised to shine brilliantly this year. The New Taipei City Government will hold a series of activities for the “2014 New Taipei City Cherry Blossom Season – Cherry Blossom Mini Tour” from late January to the end of March 2014, allowing the public to explore New Taipei City during the Spring Festival and admire this beautiful “City of Romantic Cherry Blossoms.” For those who can’t wait, don’t worry—the “Cherry Blossom Mini Tour” photography contest kicks off early starting today. This yearNew Taipei City’s first hints of cherry red have already appeared in a hidden gem — the Xiaogeditou Nursery, where delicate blossoms dot the beautiful tree trunks, building anticipation for the full bloom to come.
