Jinshan Old Street

Also known as Jinkouli Old Street, Jinshan Old Street is located in Jinshan District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It’s a vibrant old street offering food, drinks, entertainment, and shopping, and is one of the most famous tourist attractions in New Taipei. The street is especially well-known for its “Jinkouli” roast duck and the iconic Kaisan Shengwang Temple. During holidays, volunteers from the local cultural association offer history tours to visitors, providing thoughtful service that makes it easy for tourists to learn more about Jinshan.

Jinshan Old Street was established in the late Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty. Originally, it served as a trading hub for agricultural produce and fishing-hunting goods. After several hundred years of development, it has evolved into what it is today. At the T-junction on the western section of the street stands the century-old Guang’an Temple, and the roast duck shop right in front of the temple has been a local culinary favorite for decades, beloved by both domestic and international visitors. In addition, the street is home to traditional shops such as a century-old rice store, a Chinese medicine shop, an antique shop, and a grocery store. There are also local specialties like red sweet potatoes, taro, and yams, as well as a variety of snacks including meat pies, wife cakes, pineapple cakes, and Taiwanese stir-fries. Visitors can enjoy the unique cultural atmosphere while indulging in delicious local food.
