Tianyuan Palace is a temple located in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan, situated to the northwest of the Datun Mountain Range. Its prime location houses the Wujitianyuan Palace Main Hall and the Wujizhenyuan Heavenly Altar. It is world-renowned for its breathtaking crimson cherry blossom scenery in spring, making it one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Greater Taipei and even across Taiwan. When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the site is crowded with visitors.

The cherry blossoms commonly seen in Taiwan are usually deep pink mountain cherries with small blossoms and less graceful appearances. If you want to see the beautiful and vast Yoshino cherry blossoms, you generally have to go to high-altitude areas like Alishan. What makes Tianyuan Palace truly unique is that the temple has grafted Japanese Yoshino cherry trees onto native mountain cherry trees, perfectly blending the red of the mountain cherry with the white of the Yoshino cherry, resulting in a distinctive flower variety. The cherry blossoms at Tianyuan Palace resemble blushing young maidens, their romantic and innocent pink hues warmly welcoming every visitor.

Tianyuan Palace is almost the easiest low-altitude Yoshino cherry blossom viewing area to reach in Taiwan. With hundreds of trees densely planted, the pink cherry blossoms complement the oriental-style temple architecture, creating a unique charm that feels both Japanese and distinctly Chinese. This has made it extremely popular in recent years.
