Ahongkou

Ahongkou is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Ahongkou is situated at the southwestern corner of Bosten Lake, 40 kilometers from the county seat and 42 kilometers from Korla City. It was developed in 1997 with an investment of 13 million yuan by the Zhuolangao Tourism Co., Ltd. of Bohu County. The site features a two-story multifunctional hall restaurant, a 1,900-square-meter hotel, a 1,500-square-meter parking lot, one waterside platform, and one dock. There are 15 speedboats, 12 couples’ boats and rubber dinghies, as well as related facilities such as sun umbrellas and awnings. The area offers 30 beds and can accommodate up to 320 diners at once. In 2001, it was rated as a national AAA-level tourist attraction by the China National Tourism Administration.

The reed marshes in Ahongkou present a variety of postures, while bird flocks inhabit the lake’s islets and lotus flowers bloom in competition, making its enchanting scenery the foremost attraction of Bosten Lake. In 2012, Yige Design Institute, adhering to the principles of wetland landscape preservation and prioritizing protection, aimed to transform the area into an eco-cultural wetland tourism destination integrating wetland sightseeing, science education, ecological leisure, health and wellness, and cultural experience. The construction and implementation of this project have made it the most distinctive wetland water culture scenic attraction in Xinjiang.
