Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics

Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics is a full-time higher education institution specializing in finance and management. It is one of the key institutions under construction in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Located on the picturesque Beijing Road in Urumqi, the university spans three campuses—South, North, and Park—with a total area of 626,000 square meters and over 410,000 square meters of green space.

The predecessor of Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics was the Cadre School of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Province, established in 1950; in 2000, the former Xinjiang University of Finance

and Economics, Xinjiang Economic Management Cadre College, Xinjiang Finance School (including Xinjiang Taxation School) merged to form the new Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. After more than 50 years of development and construction, it has begun to take shape.

Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics offers programs in six major disciplines: economics, management, law, engineering, science, and literature. Finance and statistics are key disciplines at the autonomous region level. The university has 11 regular master’s degree programs and two professional master’s degree programs (MBA and university faculty), as well as 20 undergraduate majors and 21 junior college majors. It comprises twelve specialized departments including accounting and finance, and three foundational teaching departments: the Department of Marxism-Leninism, the Department of Chinese Language Teaching, and the Department of Physical Education. The university also includes an Adult Education College and a Business College (an independent college). Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics has a total enrollment of over 20,000 students and 1,496 faculty members, and has trained and sent over 60,000 professionals to various sectors of society.
