Harvest Autumn Hand-Drawn Map: The Most Flavorful Way to Explore Tainan

Tainan Tourism Bureau’s series of hand-drawn maps this year is exceptionally exquisite, and they have been very popular among travelers. The eighth edition, themed “Harvest Autumn,” introduces visitors to more local attractions and the diverse facets of Tainan.

In the “Harvest Autumn” map, Madou, Xigang, and Anding, located at the heart of Tainan, are known as hubs for Tainan’s religious carnivals. The triennial Tainan Incense Festival is a unique religious celebration in Tainan and one of the most historically significant folk faith events in Taiwan. Xinzhuang District, originally a typical agricultural town, has seen major corporations invest and set up factories here. The “Tainan Science Park” was established here in 1995, creating a city style that blends technology and culture with surrounding districts. Madou’s pomelos and Guantian’s water caltrops are famous throughout Taiwan. Visitors can not only taste the produce at its source but also experience life as a farmer for a day. Shanhua Brewery is a key production site for the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation in southern Taiwan, and the entire brewery has been transformed into a cultural park, making it Taiwan’s first beer-themed tourist brewery.

The eighth edition, “Harvest Autumn,” features illustrator Yating’s rustic and whimsical art style. Through her French girl character Fifi, she leads everyone to explore Tainan and discover the flavors of its agricultural produce. Ni Hao I’m Fifi—original illustrator Yating is a Tainan girl who studied in France. She founded the Ni Hao I’m Fifi brand out of her dreams. Its central character, Fifi, travels around the world exploring the beauty of travel. This time, Fifi will act as a little tour guide, taking her pet Gray and White, along with her good friend Bear, on a trip to her hometown to introduce its beauty to everyone.
The illustrator’s hand-drawn map foldouts “Fresh Fruit Splash” and “Harvest Autumn” have been available for free public pickup since Friday, October 28. Visitors are welcome to pick them up at Tainan’s various tourism service centers, Yonghua and Minzhi Municipal Joint Service Centers, and district offices. Limited quantities are available, and the maps can also be downloaded from the “Tainan Tourism Website” (http://www.twtainan.net/).
