Are you familiar with Tainan’s mountainous and plains agricultural regions? The Tainan Tourism Bureau’s annual hand-drawn map series is launching its seventh edition this year, focusing on nine administrative districts—Nanhua, Nansi, Liujia, Yujing, Daliao, Shanshang, Zuozhen, Xinhua, and Longqi—for its “Fresh Harvest & Fruity Delights” theme, as well as an eighth edition highlighting seven districts—Guantian, Shanhua, Xinshi, Madou, Xigang, Jiali, and Anding—for its “Autumn Harvest” theme, showcasing the multifaceted charm of Tainan to travelers.

The “Fresh Harvest & Fruity Delights” map spans from Nanhua in eastern Tainan, following the terrain all the way to Longqi. The area features a landscape of mountains and water, rich in diverse cultural history, unique landforms, and natural ecology, making it one of Tainan’s most resource-abundant regions. Travelers can leisurely explore the mountainous region, from Meiling and Wushan Scenic Areas to Caoshan Moon World and Niupu Farm Ponds. Along the way, attractions such as Chishan Dragon Lake Rock, Zoumalai Farm, the Former Tainan Waterworks, Hutou Mountain, and Hutoupi Reservoir offer opportunities to breathe in forest phytoncides and enjoy the serene sounds of insects and birds. The area also boasts a wide variety of agricultural produce, allowing visitors to savor dishes made with seasonal ingredients and, during specific seasons, participate in fruit-picking activities.
For the seventh Tainan regional map, “Fresh Harvest & Fruity Delights,” the Tainan Tourism Bureau invited travel illustrator Reiko to capture the picturesque scenery of the region. Using her signature sketchbook-style doodling technique, she brings to life the beautiful mountains and waters of Tainan. Reiko, who began her career with a blog and later became a renowned illustrated writer, fell in love with travel and started documenting her journeys through text, illustrations, and collected materials in her travel journal. After sharing her work on her blog, she gained widespread acclaim. Starting in 2012, she published several illustrated travel books, including *Traveling with a Sketchbook*, *How I Accidentally Made Life So Much Fun*, *A Kansai Adventure for Sketchbook Lovers*, and *Untypical Impressions of Britain*. The fold-out brochures featuring the illustrator’s hand-drawn maps “Fresh Harvest & Fruity Delights” and “Autumn Harvest” have been available for free public pickup since Friday, October 28. Visitors are welcome to stop by any Tainan City tourist service center, the Yonghua and Minzhi Municipal Joint Service Centers, or district offices to collect them. Quantities are limited, but you can also download the maps from the *Tainan Tourism Website* (http://www.twtainan.net/).
