Following our previous introduction to Nangan Island in Matsu, its breathtaking scenery has garnered widespread admiration. This time, the attraction guide will introduce Beigan Island, located near Nangan. The island features dramatic undulating terrain, numerous beaches and outlying islets, as well as a profusion of sheltered harbors, creating a richly diverse tourism landscape. The most captivating attraction is Qiniang Cape, where well-preserved traditional Matsu settlements cling to the mountainside and face the sea. The color of the stone houses shifts with the sunlight, and here one can gaze at the sea, watch the sunset, and stargaze, all while forgetting the worries of everyday life.

Qiniang Settlement
Qiniang is known as the “Mediterranean of Matsu.” It is the most representative settlement of Eastern Min-style architecture in Matsu, exceptionally well-preserved, and highly favored by domestic and international architecture, culture, and art communities. The cluster of vacant houses, once left due to depopulation, have been renovated by the government into homestays and cultural spaces, presenting Qiniang with a diverse and vibrant appearance.

Da Wu
Da Wu is located to the north of Beigan, adjacent to Gaodeng Island. It was once inhabited and home to military personnel, but due to population decline and troop withdrawal, it has become the only uninhabited island in Matsu that visitors can access.
