Located in “Xinshi,” “Shuguo Farm” is home to sheep, horses, ostriches, rabbits, guinea pigs, and chickens, where both adults and children can get up close and personal with the animals—the kids have an amazing time here.

[Family Travel]A Full Day of Fun for Kids and Parents alike – ShuGu Farm in Tainan

“Shuguo Farm” is situated just left and behind the entrance of the “Tree Valley Life Science Museum.” Though the name “Shuguo Farm” might still be unfamiliar to many, it was formerly known as the “Chi Mei Shanhua Farm.” After relocating, it has become more spacious and better organized.

The total area of “Shuguo Farm” is about 5 hectares, and the farm includes animal feeding areas, fish feeding zones, barbecue spots, a push-and-play area, and a red quinoa sightseeing zone.

On the way to the entrance of “Shuguo Farm,” you can see many bright and beautiful red quinoa plants. According to an indigenous legend, when the red quinoa blossoms, you can glimpse your romantic fortune for the year.

The entrance fee for “Shuguo Farm” is 50 NT dollars per person, and children under three years old are admitted free of charge.

The entrance fee can be exchanged for animal feed—we got two boxes of feed, carrots, and hay.

The hay can be used to feed animals like sheep and horses.

This is Xiao Tao’s first experience feeding grass to the sheep.

Xiao Tao is so happy.

The pond is filled with groups of ducks and geese.

There’s also a cute rabbit & guinea pig area.

Watching the rabbits play, sleep, and eat—every pose is adorable and healing.

Chickens stroll freely around us.

Guess what egg this is? It’s the shell of an ostrich egg.

Momma Ostrich is right here—with her long neck and flat beak.

There are also several horses here—slightly older kids can pay to ride them.

While feeding the animals, Xiao Tao tried petting the horse’s fur.

In addition to the animal feeding area, there’s also a sandbox zone. Don’t worry if you didn’t bring any sand toys.

Sand toys are available for rent nearby at 50 NT dollars per session.

Next to the sandbox is the fishing area, which is covered by shelters that provide shade and keep you dry from the rain.

When Xiao Tao was eight months old, we visited the Tree Valley Life Science Museum. At that time, we thought she’d enjoy it even more when she was a bit older.

It’s been almost two years since we last visited the “Tree Valley Life Science Museum,” and we found it’s now even more kid-friendly, with moving, sound-making dinosaurs that kids can ride.

There are also fake dinosaur eggs for visitors to take photos with—so fun and Instagrammable.

Next to the entrance of “Shuguo Farm,” there’s also a little toy train, which is irresistible to many kids.

However, there are no shaded or sheltered areas in the farm itself, so we recommend playing inside the “Tree Valley Life Science Museum” between 11:00 and 15:00. Come to the farm later when it’s cooler, so you don’t get too sweaty and spoil the fun.

Overall, “Shuguo Farm” features animals such as sheep, horses, ostriches, rabbits, guinea pigs, and chickens, allowing kids to interact closely with them. There are also sandbox and fishing areas, making it perfect for planning a full day of parent-child bonding. Sharing our experience with everyone.
