Taichung City Bus Routes 151 and 153 New Express Lines Begin Service in July – Direct Access to Wufeng and Guguan

As the summer travel season approaches, the Taichung City Government Transportation Bureau will add two new bus routes starting in July:the “153 Guguan New Express Line”and the“151 Dali-Wufeng New Express Line,”both of which travel via national highways and expressways directly to Guguan, Dali, or Wufeng, reducing travel time by 40 to 50 minutes compared to regular city buses. Passengers riding the new express lines can enjoy a benefit of free rides for the first 8 kilometers when tapping their cards, with a maximum cap of NT$60.

The Transportation Bureau stated that the “151 Dali-Wufeng New Express Line” travels via National Freeway No. 3 and Provincial Highway No. 74, connecting the Taichung Children’s Art Museum, Taichung HSR Station, Chaoma, and the New Municipal Government Center. Travelers arriving at the HSR station can go directly to downtown department store districts, the Children’s Art Museum, and the National Museum of Natural Science. The “153 Guguan New Express Line” can take passengers directly from downtown Taichung to Guguan in just 100 minutes, eliminating the previous need for a 2.5-hour journey with a transfer in Fengyuan.

Regarding departure times,the “151 Dali-Wufeng New Express Line” runs every 10 to 15 minutes during weekday peak hours, and every 20 to 30 minutes during weekday off-peak hours and holidays. The “153 Guguan New Express Line” follows a fixed schedule, with 26 round trips daily between the New Municipal Government Center, and 10 round trips on weekdays and 20 on holidays between the Taichung HSR Station..

In addition to the frequent services, the Transportation Bureau also noted that riders using an EasyCard or TaiwanPass can enjoy free rides for the first 8 kilometers, with fares not exceeding NT$60 even beyond that distance—making it the best transportation option for exploring Greater Taichung.
