1. Petrified Wood Forest: Telling the Ancient Tales of the Western Regions

During the Cretaceous period, the land of the Western Regions was lush with cycads, ferns, and coniferous trees, and roamed by dinosaurs. One fateful night of cataclysmic upheaval brought down the forests and wiped out the dinosaurs.

Millions of years later, this ancient forest re-emerged. Today, they stand silently in Xinjiang Ancient Eco-Park, forming China’s largest pristine petrified wood cluster.

2. Akhal-Teke Horse Base: Carrying Forward the Time-Honored Culture of Heavenly Horses

Over two thousand years ago, Han envoy Zhang Qian traveled to the Western Regions and reported to Emperor Wu: “Dayuan has many fine horses that sweat blood.” Upon seeing the horses himself, Emperor Wu called them “Heavenly Horses” and composed the “Song of the Heavenly Horse”: “The Heavenly Horses come from the far west, crossing the sandy deserts, bringing submission from nine tribes.” To acquire these horses, Emperor Wu launched two military campaigns against Dayuan and ultimately obtained the prized steeds.

The Akhal-Teke horses enhanced the combat strength of the Han army, eliminated external threats, and established the Han people as a formidable power in the East. The Silk Road also began its journey from here, stretching to the far ends of the continent.

Two millennia later, China’s largest Akhal-Teke horse base has been established within Xinjiang Ancient Eco-Park, where over a hundred of these majestic “Heavenly Horses” reside, showcasing their noble bearing and preserving the enduring legacy of equestrian culture.

3. Wild Horse Art Gallery: Appreciating Exquisite and Graceful Oil Paintings

The Wild Horse Art Gallery houses a collection of over 600 oil paintings by artists from China and Eurasian countries. With exceptional technique, these painters create enchanting visuals that offer viewers a rich tapestry of colors and emotions.
