Western Xia Imperial Palace

The Western Xia Imperial Palace is located in the Jingshui (Yellow River) Tourist Area, 13 kilometers east of Yinchuan City. "Hengcheng Ancient Ferry" has been one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Ningxia since ancient times. The Western Xia Imperial Palace was rebuilt for the filming of the historical TV series “Helan Snow,” which focuses on the history of the Western Xia Dynasty. Covering an area of 50 square kilometers, it was approved by the State Council in 1988 as one of the second batch of National Key Scenic Areas.

The Western Xia Mausoleums Scenic Tourism Area is located in the western suburbs of Yinchuan City, the capital of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, at the eastern foot of the Helan Mountains, adjacent to downtown Yinchuan. It is world-renowned for its unique architectural style, rich cultural heritage, and humanistic landscapes. The site features nine imperial mausoleums of the Western Xia emperors and over 260 accompanying tombs of nobles and relatives, making it the largest existing Western Xia cultural site in China. It was designated as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the State Council in 1988. The Western Xia Mausoleums Scenic Tourism Area holds significant scientific and artistic value for the study of Western Xia culture, history, architecture, and local customs. Since opening to the public, it has fully demonstrated the characteristics of Yinchuan as a historic and cultural city, becoming an important window for Yinchuan's international cultural exchanges and attracting widespread attention both domestically and abroad.
