As the plum rain front continues to move southward and is compounded by a lingering southwest airflow, there remains a high probability of heavy rainfall and localized thunderstorms across Taiwan. Counties and cities including Miaoli, Taichung, Chiayi (city and county), Hualien, and Taitung are expected to experience torrential rain, while Yunlin, Kaohsiung, Nantou, Chiayi, and Pingtung—five counties and cities in total—are forecasted to face super heavy rain. Both lowland and mountainous areas must remain on high alert for potential rain-triggered disasters.

The rainy conditions across Taiwan on June 4 have eased, but the weather remains unstable, with chances of thunderstorms throughout the country. Remember to carry rain gear when going out. The stagnant front originated from the southern sea area of Japan, extending southwestward through central Taiwan to Guangdong. Affected by the southwest monsoon, thunderstorm areas may experience maximum gusts of wind force 10. Boats should exercise extra caution, and maritime activities should be avoided. Temperatures will range between 25–31°C, getting hotter the further south you go. Be mindful of the temperature difference between indoors and outdoors in air-conditioned spaces. Heavy rainfall has affected many land and air transportation services, with suspensions or delays. If you need to use any transport, be sure to check in advance if services are running normally. Mountainous area transport may face falling rocks or road closures—extra care is required.
In the early hours of June 4, the lingering front that had shifted moisture southward began interacting with upper-level airflow, showing signs of rotating northward, raising concerns of super heavy rainfall similar to that on June 2 in northern regions. Stay alert to rainfall levels and safety from the evening of June 3 through early June 4.
