Attraction Introduction

Western Xia Folk Park is a key investment-attracting project in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is also another major development by Hangzhou Aohai Holding Co., Ltd. in Yinchuan, following the construction of Mingcui Spring, Aohai Qinghefang, and Aohai Lanting. This top-tier cultural tourism project integrates cultural tourism with leisure vacation. Located in Xixia District, Yinchuan, it borders Xigan Canal to the east, the Air Force Railway to the south, National Highway 110 to the west, and Beijing West Road to the north. With convenient transportation and beautiful surroundings, it forms a golden tourism belt with nearby attractions such as the Western Xia Tombs, Zhenbeibu Western Film Studios, Helan Mountain Scenic Area, and Gongzhongkou Scenic Area. Centered around a panoramic display of Western Xia culture, the park blends culture and tourism. Using the Eight Great Clans of the ancient Western Xia Kingdom (Tuoba, Miquan, Fangdang, Yeli, Pochao, Wangli, Feiting, and Xifeng) as prototypes for the eight fortress villages, it integrates five themed zones: Dreaming Back to Western Xia, Strategizing Western Xia, Competing in Western Xia, Modern Western Xia, and Tasting Western Xia. These zones organically combine ancient Western Xia elements such as farming, printing, pottery, nomadic life, military, and brewing with modern amenities like five-star hotels, lakeside villas, ski (grass) slopes, golf experiences, fishing, team-building activities, and children’s entertainment. A featured food street and camping area further complement the destination, striving to become a national 5A-level tourist attraction.

The park’s architecture captures the essence of Western Xia design, featuring both grand royal complexes and quaint wooden cottages nestled by the lake and in the woods. Visitors can admire the exquisite beauty of Western Xia architectural art. The gardens are exquisitely landscaped with charming scenery—ranging from the vast grasslands where “the wind blows low to reveal grazing sheep” to the poetic charm of Jiangnan’s small bridges and flowing waters. Pavilion structures and fragrant blossoms dot the landscape, creating an exceptional destination for sightseeing.

Western Xia Folk Park is currently the largest and most expansive theme park offering a panoramic showcase of the mysterious Western Xia Dynasty.
