The Ears Ancient City Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

The Ears Ancient City Site is located in Ears Village, Xiaocha Township, Pengyang County, Guyuan City, and dates back to the Song Dynasty.

On September 15, 2005, the Ears Ancient City Site was designated as part of the third batch of Autonomous Region-level Cultural Heritage Protection Units.

Xiaocha Township: Pengyang County’s Xiaocha Township is located 62 kilometers north of Pengyang County, covering an area of 151.09 square kilometers. The township administers 8 administrative villages, with a total arable land area of 39,345 mu and a fallow/reclaimed land area of 60,242.3 mu. It has a total population of 7,188 people and is the core area for the breeding of Chaona chickens in Pengyang County. Currently, the township raises a total of 212,000 Chaona chickens, including 87,000 kept in stock and 125,000 sold, accounting for one-fourth of the county’s total of 650,000 Chaona chickens.
