Huanggongshan White Tea

　　In just three short years, "Huanggongshan" white tea developed by Anhui Shangxing Mountain Tea Trade Co., Ltd., located at the foot of Huanggongshan in Yitan Township, Zongyang County, has achieved remarkable success in the tea market. The "Huanggongshan" white tea has successively been awarded the titles of Anqing City Famous Trademark, Anhui Province Famous-Brand Product, and the Grand Prize at the 10th China Tea Cup National Famous & High-quality Tea Evaluation hosted by the China Tea Science Society in 2013, becoming a model enterprise for the development of modern agricultural models in our county.

　　Anhui Shangxing Mountain Tea Trade Co., Ltd. is a large-scale ecological tea planting enterprise introduced to Yitan Township in 2012. It integrates tea planting, processing, sales, and scientific research, and was jointly invested in and established by several local entrepreneurs including Wu Duoxing from Zongyang. The company acquired the right to use 2000 mu of Huanggongshan forest land for 20 years at a price of 50 yuan per mu per year. Leveraging the abundant mountain resources and unique natural ecological environment of Yitan Township, the project adopted the production model of Anji white tea from Zhejiang, focusing mainly on cultivating two premium tea varieties: white tea and golden leaf. With a total investment of 60 million yuan to date, the company has developed 2,000 mu of standardized tea gardens. The developed "Huanggongshan" white tea is renowned in the industry for its intact bud tips, graceful petal-like appearance, fresh and delicate fuzz aroma, greenish liquor color, and a mild yet sweet aftertaste.

　　Represented by the Huanggongshan White Tea base, transforming long-abandoned barren hills into lush greenery is a microcosm of Zongyang County’s efforts to guide farmers in standardizing forestland transfers, revitalizing scattered forest resources, and achieving large-scale, intensive forestry operations. In recent years, the county has continuously innovated land transfer methods based on the principles of legality, voluntariness, and compensation, promoting scaled management and resolving issues such as cultivated land abandonment and extensive use of water surfaces and hillsides. The scale of land transfers has continued to expand. By the end of 2013, the county had transferred 320,000 mu of arable land and 360,000 mu of fishable water surfaces. Particularly noteworthy is the transfer of barren hills and forested lands, which has explored a new path for the distinctive development of Zongyang, becoming a new highlight along the Wanjiang River.
