On April 8, the 9th Ningxia Liupan Mountain Flower Tourism Festival opened in Pengyang County. Cai Guoying, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and head of the Propaganda Department of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Hong Yang, vice-chairman of the Regional Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the event.
This year’s Flower Tourism Festival adheres to the principles of simplicity and pragmatism, and has done away with a formal opening ceremony. Instead, it focuses on showcasing Pengyang’s cultural and tourism resources through a series of activities including sightseeing tours, the Pengyang Cultural Tourism Commodities Exhibition, and the Pengyang “Ecological Civilization” Cup Photography Competition. One of the key attractions promoted during the festival, the Ruhé Waterfall, attracted many tourists interested in travel and photography. Located 24 kilometers east of Pengyang County and situated in the lower reaches of the Ruhé River, the waterfall was formed due to crustal movements and riverbed shifts, resulting in a series of cascading waterfalls with drops of over nine meters and a deep, narrow Ruhé River canyon. The majestic riverbed landforms and the pastoral scenery of blooming apricot blossoms leave visitors enchanted.
It is understood that during the 9th Ningxia Liupan Mountain Flower Tourism Festival, there will also be self-driving tours, performances of Qinqiang opera, square cultural shows, and the inaugural Pengyang Mountaineering Festival, among other events. These activities aim to promote Pengyang’s cultural tourism products and boost the development of tourism in the region.
