On September 15, 2005, the Former Revolutionary Site of Xiaochagou was designated as one of the third batch of Autonomous Region-level cultural heritage protection units.

Xiaocha Township: Located 62 kilometers north of Pengyang County, Xiaocha Township in Pengyang County covers an area of 151.09 square kilometers. The township administers 8 administrative villages, with a total arable land area of 39,345 mu and a fallow or returned farmland area of 60,242.3 mu. It has a total population of 7,188 people and serves as the core breeding area for Chaona chickens in Pengyang County. Currently, the township raises a total of 212,000 Chaona chickens, including 87,000 in stock and 125,000 slaughtered, accounting for one quarter of the county’s total of 650,000 Chaona chickens.
