Qaidam River Basin Wetlands The Qaidam River Basin stretches from the Xiaochaidan area of Xiangride Town in the east, through Balong Township and Zongjia Township, to the territory of Nuomuhong Township in the west. It encompasses the Qaidam River, Halawusu River, Sulenggol River, Menggur River, and Tiangeri River, as well as the North and South Hobson Lakes and surrounding wetlands. The wetland area is home to over 30 species of water-dependent birds, including the Eurasian coot, ruddy shelduck, black-necked crane, whooper swan, common pochard, red-crested pochard, brown shrike, and black-browed reed warbler.
