"Police Point" Turned "Scenic Spot" – Dulan Police Station Becomes the "Safest" Camping Area

A police station has become a tourist attraction too. The Dulan Police Station in Donghe Township, Taitung County, has created the "safest camping area" right next to the station, open for public leisure and rest,in addition to high-quality camping facilities, it also offers 24/7 protection by officers who are even more professional than security guards,this year, it has already attracted nearly 2,000 visitors who came specifically for it.

The Dulan Police Station has a strong tropical vibe, and its attached camping area provides wooden tables and chairs as well as roofed wooden deck campsites. There are also sunshade awnings installed on the sides, making the facilities very complete. Moreover, free restrooms, water supply, washing machines, bicycle air pumps, and travel guide services are all available, which have amazed visitors who came from afar.

In addition, to accommodate the increasing number of international tourists, the police station has specially provided camping area usage guidelines in both Chinese and English, and assigned female officers with English proficiency certifications. It aims to enhance assistance and services for foreign visitors. This has also helped the Dulan Police Station rank third in the Ministry of Transportation and Communications Tourism Bureau’s “National Cross-Ministry 214 Best Tourism Information Service Stations” evaluation, unexpectedly turning a "police point" into a "scenic spot."
