Yangdi Ethnic Culture Village is located in Jichang Town, known as the "Hometown of Chinese Ethnic Art," about 15 kilometers from the county seat, with the Duliu Highway running through the scenic area. Rich in cultural heritage, the villagers are all of the Buyi ethnic group. Everyone in the village, regardless of age or gender, is skilled in singing and dancing. Since ancient times, the village has had its own flower lantern troupe, its own cultural square, and self-composed and directed flower lantern performances. The ancient Yangdi village is nestled among picturesque mountains and clear waters, boasting a long history. To this day, it preserves numerous historical relics, including a plaque inscribed with “Upholding Integrity Like Pine and Bamboo” bestowed by the President in the 10th year of the Republic of China, an imperial plaque of unknown dynasty titled “Commending Chastity and Filial Piety,” the ancestral hall of the Liao family, exquisitely preserved ancient gates, the “Bridge of Missing Kin,” and a thousand-year-old sweet gum tree. The village’s fine folk customs have allowed its people to fully inherit exquisite craftsmanship such as weaving, fan-making, and bamboo hat braiding. Its traditional culture, including cuisine and rituals, is distinctive and unique.
