The Babaobao Red Army Cemetery is a cultural heritage site of Dafang County and a classic red tourism destination.

The Babaobao Red Army Cemetery is located in Xinkai Village, Babaobao Township. It is a county-level cultural heritage site and an important modern historical relic and representative structure from 1936.

Babaobao Township: Located in the western part of Dafang County. It covers an area of 106 square kilometers with a population of 27,000, among which ethnic groups such as Yi and Miao make up 26.3%. It governs 22 village committees. It was established as Babaobao Township in 1949. In 1953, it was divided to form Babaobao, Zhongqing, Taoyuan, Xinkai, and Shangba townships. In 1958, the townships were abolished and merged into Piaojing Commune. From 1963 onward, Babaobao, Zhongqing, and Xinkai communes were re-established. In 1984, it was reorganized into Babaobao Township and two ethnic townships: Xinkai and Zhongqing. In 1991, they were merged to form Babaobao Yi and Miao Ethnic Township.
