Jiudongtian Karst Cave Power Station is located in Wuya Village, Maochang Town. It is a county-level cultural relic protection site and an important modern historical site and representative building constructed in 1969.

Maochang Town: Located in the southwest of Dafang County, on the north bank of the middle reaches of the Liuchong River. It covers an area of 104 square kilometers with a population of 28,100, among which ethnic minorities such as Yi, Miao, and Buyi account for 19.5%. The town administers 1 neighborhood committee and 13 village committees. It was originally Maochang Township. In 1953, it was divided to establish Maochang, Liuzhong, and Dawan townships. In 1958, it was merged into Pojiao Commune. After 1961, three communes were re-established. In 1984, it was restructured into Maochang Town and Dawan and Liuzhong townships. In 1991, they were merged again to form Maochang Town. The area is rich in coal and sulfur mines. It produces tobacco leaves, chili peppers, and peanuts. There are 19 primary schools.
