Dafang Gayayi Post Road

Dafang Gayayi Post Road is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Guizhou Province.

Dafang Gayayi Post Road is located in Gayayi, at the border of Xiangshui Township and Shuangshan Township to the northwest of Dafang County. It is 12 kilometers from the county seat. This road was one of the nine Longchang post stations established during the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty by She Xiang, the female leader of the Yi ethnic group and the Yunnan-Guizhou Pacification Commissioner.

She Xiang built a post road system centered on Guiyang, enabling Guizhou to connect with neighboring provinces. The Gayayi Post Road links the Jinguizi Post Road in the east and the Guihua Post Road in the west, stretching a total of 15 kilometers. Currently, only a section remains — starting from Xiaogayayi in the east and ending at Shuangshan in the west. This preserved part is 5 kilometers long and 4 meters wide, featuring layered stone steps that wind along the mountainside, suitable for pedestrians and horses.
