Moon River Forest Park is located on the eastern slope of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, in the transitional zone from the northwestern Guizhou Plateau to the central Guizhou hills and tablelands. The area features undulating mountains and falls within the mid-mountain landform type. It is 140 kilometers from Guiyang, 75 kilometers from Liupanshui City, and 35 kilometers from the central urban area of Liuzhi. The elevation here is 1,674 meters, with most of the park’s peaks ranging between 1,350 and 1,600 meters. The relative height difference is 150–250 meters, the average temperature is 14–15°C, and the annual precipitation averages between 1,400 and 1,500 millimeters. The tourism-friendly period lasts for over 240 days a year. The park mainly consists of three scenic spots: Langfengtai, Honglin Mountain, and Gechang. Moon River Forest Park is an ideal destination for sightseeing and leisure, water recreation, horseback riding and fishing, experiencing Buyi ethnic culture, and immersing in a forest fairy-tale atmosphere.
