Miniature BK10 Steam Locomotive Cruising at Banqiao 435 Arts and Cultural District

For railway enthusiasts, steam trains have always held an indescribable allure. Sharing that same passion for steam locomotives, Lin Song-hsiung, a former railway engineering technician, spent ten years after retirement handcrafting a series of steam train models. Two of them are capable of running on custom-made tracks, and one of these miniature models — the BK10 steam locomotive — will be available for the public to ride for free at the Banqiao 435 Arts and Cultural District.

The Banqiao 435 Arts and Cultural District will invite railway machinery expert Lin Song-hsiung on October 19, 20, 26, and 27 to offer the public free rides on his handmade, rideable miniature “BK10 Steam Locomotive.” Powered by steam generated from boiling water, even this mini train can move forward and carry passengers along the 50-meter-long custom track built by Lin, winning the hearts of both children and adults.

During the event, Lin Song-hsiung will take on the role of train conductor, while also performing and explaining how water vapor is created by burning wood and coal to drive the little train. On-site, visitors can watch live coal-burning demonstrations, smell the scent of burning coal, hear the whistle of the steam locomotive, and even touch the model train cars. Attendees will also have the chance to take home a unique 435 Platform Commemorative Ticket.

Event Sessions:
First Session / 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Ticket collection begins at 9:00 AM until supplies last)
Second Session / 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Ticket collection begins at 1:00 PM until supplies last)

Registration Method:
Collect tickets at the service desk; each person is limited to one ticket, with a maximum of 140 people per session.
Board the train during your assigned time slot as indicated on your ticket.
