The Mandarin Duck Cave is located on the eastern side of Fengshan County, halfway up Phoenix Mountain at an altitude of over 700 meters. It is a mid-to-high level double-layer karst cave situated on the southern edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. Inside the cave, there is a rich variety of stalactites, stalagmites, and stone curtains, all with strikingly vivid and lifelike forms. You can see scenes like dragons soaring and leaping, giant dragons coiled around, majestic waterfalls rushing forth, as well as splashing waves, mandarin ducks playing in the water, and silver discs dancing. The cave entrance is 7.5 meters high and 12 meters wide, offering stunning scenery. From here, you can point to the sun and moon above, or gaze down into the crystal-clear Mandarin Duck Spring. The cave stretches 480 meters in length, reaches a maximum width of 320 meters, and has a highest rock hall peak at 52 meters. It covers an area of 25,000 square meters, and its grand underground hall ranks as the tenth largest in China.

Upon entering through the cave entrance, you’ll find the first level of the cave. The tour route winds through a total length of 1,200 meters. Inside, the stalactites are towering and majestic, with uniquely crafted rock formations that are both intricate and grand. In some areas, the scenery resembles mountain ranges, exuding a powerful and overwhelming presence. One stalagmite stands as tall as 36.4 meters, ranking as the second tallest in the world, resembling a colossal pillar reaching straight toward the sky. There are about 15 stalagmites over 20 meters in height, and countless others around 6 meters tall, which gather in various spots to form a unique cave-stone forest landscape. The largest stone curtain in the cave is approximately 15 meters high and 6 meters wide, snowy white in color, strikingly resembling a waterfall frozen in motion, as if it has instantly turned into an ice column and been suspended forever within the beautiful Mandarin Duck Cave.
