Want to take photos with Charlie Brown and his friends? Hurry up… just head to Kaohsiung MRT Fongshan West Station (Kaohsiung City Council) and you can snap away to your heart’s content Up!Yes!Today, our traveler returns to her hometown, Kaohsiung... It’s said that... recently, a group of adorable friends have arrived on the Orange Line of the Kaohsiung MRT. And me—Xijie—I just had to grab my husband Martin and hop on the MRT to check it out right away!
Hehehe, it turns out that after the 2014 crossover collaboration featuring Charlie Brown and his friends and Snoopy in the SNOOPY-themed painted train carriages, Kaohsiung MRT has once again partnered with JEDesign Integrated Marketing this year to transform Kaohsiung MRT Fongshan West Station (Kaohsiung City Council) into Taiwan’s first-ever “Charlie Brown Themed Station.” To match the station’s atmosphere, this event has been named “Travel Fun with Charlie Brown,” which is quite fitting, isn’t it? At the entrance of Kaohsiung MRT Fongshan West Station, Charlie Brown greets everyone, and there are cute patterns of Charlie Brown and Snoopy throughout the concourse level, platform level, and even the elevator for passengers with disabilities. Additionally, the paid area concourse features large plush figures of Charlie Brown, Lucy, Sally, and Linus, all available for free public photos and interaction. Alright—no more talk, let’s go have fun with the super-cute Charlie Brown and his friends!
%spine??? As I walked down the corridor, I didn’t expect that next to the escalator, there’d be a Snoopy-themed photo interactive corner and brand display area!%girlfriend went to visit during lunch break... wow wow wow, no exaggeration, Xijie completely lost it the moment she saw these little cuties everywhere on the ceiling and around the concourse!
%exhibit… Let’s follow Snoopy’s footprints and search for those joyful images from our childhood memories!%first thing that caught my eye… was the large interactive painted wall featuring Charlie Brown and his friends, hehe, just this one wall alone can make both kids and adults super happy Up. Of course… that includes Auntie Xijie, who still has a little pink girl living inside her (pfft, Xijie waited until a bunch of little kids finished taking photos before she boldly lined up and took her own shot—so happy… blush >///<)%A mural depicting America is a gift from Charles M.Schulz) created in 1950, is the main character of the "Peanuts" comic strip. He is a third-grade elementary school student and owns a pet dog named "Snoopy." Both are highly famous comic characters.%It's completely different from any other brand I've ever loved... I love Snoopy, forever.....(I really want to go to Roppongi in Tokyo, Japan. The Snoopy Museum that just opened recently is amazing....)
%And there’s also… Snoopy driving a school bus with Woodstock—where could they be headed… probably off to school!
%And then… the ones that truly melted Xijie’s girlish heart were the life-sized, ultra-cute plush figures! These large figures stood in a row with gentle smiles, really making Xijie and passersby—whether intentional or not—stop in their tracks and excitedly take memories with them.
%Honestly, right? And yes, they really make people feel warm inside…
%ah~ come on!It made Xijie couldn’t help but lean in close for some selfies with them too…
%the interactive art exhibit at the Kaohsiung City Council is part of a public welfare exhibition running from 4/1 to 8/31. This is the first and only time the themed station and themed exhibit have appeared together, because all the figures are on loan and will be taken back and destroyed after the exhibit ends. If you want to see them, make sure to grab the chance while you can. (Information sourced online)
%then look… Lucy’s plush figure is casually sitting on a chair nearby, waiting happily for everyone to interact with her!
%currently, the station welcomes about 40,000 passengers on regular days and up to 80,000–90,000 on weekends. The goal is to boost MRT ridership by creating unique features at each station. And the 2016 “Travel Fun with Charlie Brown” also shows that Kaohsiung MRT is keen on promoting local tourist spots through the convenience of MRT travel…..%around the Kaohsiung City Council), you can find cute emblems of Charlie Brown and his friends everywhere… if you get the chance to visit, do take a closer look!%and here’s a bonus tip… the Exit 1 of Fongshan West Station features an art installation called ‘Fenglin Tianxia,’ so if you pass by, don’t forget to stop and admire this interesting piece. Just remember… the Charlie Brown Themed Station is located at Kaohsiung MRT Fongshan West Station on the Orange Line (Kaohsiung City Council), so don’t go to the wrong station, hey…
