Wanshou Valley Scenic Area

Wanshou Valley Scenic Area is situated in Poxin Village, Sanmenhai Town, Fengshan County, northwestern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. As the core area of a UNESCO Global Geopark, it is a 4A-level tourist destination. The valley is about 300 kilometers from Nanning, with highways and secondary roads providing access in around 4 hours; it is 380 kilometers from Guilin, reachable via expressways, first-class and secondary roads; it is 20 kilometers from Fengshan County and 40 kilometers from Bama County, renowned as a global longevity hub. Additionally, it lies 120 kilometers from the Leye Dashiwei Tiankeng Group.

Abundant Stalactites: The area features a wide variety of stone flowers and stone hairs, all crystal clear and exquisitely beautiful—some resembling roses, others peonies or carnations... Covering the largest known area of its kind in the world, these natural formations are so extraordinarily crafted that they have left global geopreservation experts in awe, leading to the establishment of a protected zone for stone flowers and hairs. Scholars have remarked, “No need to see other mountains after visiting the Five Great Mountains, and no need to see other stones after visiting Wanshou Valley.”

Magical Geological Wonders: As a core site of karst geology and a focal point of the UNESCO Global Geopark, this naturally-formed scenic area includes sinkholes, natural bridges, canyons, skylights, and stone forests... shaped over millions of years. It boasts an 180-meter cavern hall and a massive natural bridge. The underground river is ideal for drifting, offering a mysterious and ever-changing landscape with steep mountains and serene valleys. Its scenery surpasses even that of Bama.

Source of Longevity: The true origin of longevity, where waters from Sanmenhai flow into the Tongshoushan Scenic Area and then into Bama, eventually surfacing as the Panlong River—the famed "Mother River of Longevity." This area is rich in negative oxygen ions, with crystal-clear water abundant in beneficial minerals, creating a refreshing atmosphere. The stalactites here strikingly resemble an elderly figure of longevity, with flowing hair, while the deity of longevity appears serene. “Failing to pay homage to the God of Longevity makes any longevity tour incomplete.” Regular visits to Wanshou Valley are believed to enhance health and prolong life.

Rare Plants: The valley is home to the longevity herb [scientific name Primulina tabacum], a Class I nationally protected plant often dubbed the “panda of the plant world.” It thrives by absorbing the essence of nature and grows only in exceptionally clean, longevity-promoting environments, making it extremely precious. It stands as a strong symbol of Wanshou Valley as a haven for wellness and extended life. Truly, “a day in the valley nourishes life and extends years!”

Revolutionary Holy Land: The former site of the Red Seventh Army Arsenal. It is the best-preserved and most original revolutionary relic, bearing witness to the flames of history.
