Tian Shui Zhai Scenic Area

The Tian Shui Zhai Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Tian Shui Zhai Tourist Resort is located in Dulun Village, Zhouya Village, Doujiang Town, Sanjiang County, Guangxi, situated in the eastern part of Sanjiang County. Adjacent to National Highway 209 and just 15 kilometers from downtown Sanjiang, the area enjoys convenient transportation and is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The scenic area offers several important attractions and experience spots:

(1) Love is in the air—Meet your match at Tian Shui Zhai. Tracing the origins of Tian Shui Zhai, there is a beautiful legend. It is said that Chi Wen, the youngest son of the Dragon King, once traveled to Yan Yu Pool where he met a fairy-like maiden named Xiao Tao. The two fell in love at first sight and held hands all the way to Du Xi Pavilion, where they pledged their eternal love. Upon discovering this, the Dragon King was furious and drained the river, causing a severe drought in the area. Feeling powerless to fight back, Chi Wen and Xiao Tao embraced in a final kiss and turned into stone. Since then, locals have regarded this place as a sacred site for love. Young people of marriageable age come here to pray for good marital fortune, using Tian Shui Zhai as a dating and matchmaking destination, wishing for a love as enduring as that of Chi Wen and Xiao Tao.

(2) The harmonious blend of stunning natural scenery, abundant tourism resources, and the unique charm of the Sanjia Dong ethnic culture gives Tian Shui Zhai endless appeal. Along the Tianxi Stream, there are eighteen cascading waterfalls of varying sizes, like eighteen flights of stairs soaring into the sky, lifting visitors’ spirits toward the vast blue heavens and allowing them to enjoy nature’s gentle gift—negative oxygen ions reaching up to 8,600 per square centimeter. Near Dulun Village lies a 2,000-meter fruit corridor, a 200-acre tea plantation, a 50-acre vineyard, and other fruits available for visitors to view and pick. Activities such as fishing and catching fish from ponds let visitors experience rural life and enjoy the pleasures of the countryside. The self-drive campsite is situated on the banks of the Xun River, offering sweeping views of the river. At the southern end of the fruit corridor lies Tian Shui Farmhouse, which serves wild waterfall fish and eco-friendly organic food, and also features a restaurant, barbecue area, and swimming pool. Whether you're here for spring outings, summer waterfall views, autumn foliage, or winter plum blossom hunts, throughout the changing seasons visitors can fully enjoy the area’s beautiful landscapes, listen to the melodious mountain songs, and experience the unique “matchmaking” customs of the Sanjia Dong people.
