Yueye Dong Village

Yueye Dong Village is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Yueye Dong Village is located at No. 23 Dongxiang Avenue, Sanjiang County, Liuzhou City, Guangxi. Covering an area of 80 acres, it has a total investment of approximately 300 million yuan. The village integrates food, accommodation, shopping, entertainment, leisure, and wellness. It features lanes such as Duo Xie, Fei Suo, Niu Wang, Ling He, Jin Tang, and Yan E; and includes key activity areas such as the Ox-Respect Square, Moon Square, and Yueye Drum Tower, as well as experience zones like the Sanjiang Dong Village Bird’s Nest (Zuomei Sanjiang), the Sanjiang Banquet Hall (Zuke Sanjiang), and the Sanjiang Bullfighting Arena.

“Yueye” is one of the important intangible cultural heritages of the Dong ethnic group, meaning a collective village visit as guests, and is a social custom in Dong villages. Hence, the village is named “Yueye Dong Village.”

To promote the Dong intangible cultural heritage of “Yueye,” Guangxi Tourism Development Group’s Sanjiang County Zhida Tourism Development Co., Ltd. adopted “Yueye” as the cultural theme. They hired skilled Dong craftsmen to meticulously design and construct iconic Dong structures such as the Dong Village Bird’s Nest, the “Yueye” Drum Tower, a cluster of stilted buildings, a bullfighting arena, and a banquet hall. They also refined the essence of “Yueye” activities and carefully prepared cultural highlights including China’s first large-scale Dong ethnic live-action performance “Zuomei Sanjiang,” the “Zuke Sanjiang” Hundred-Family Banquet, and the “Niu Zhan Sanjiang” Bull King Competition. These offerings comprehensively interpret the cultural essence of the Dong “Yueye” tradition, immersing every visitor to the Dong villages in a grand feast of Yueye culture. It is no exaggeration to say: The Dong people are in Sanjiang, and the charm of Sanjiang is in Yueye.
