Gaoyou Dong Village

Gaoyou Village is situated in the northeastern part of Sanjiang County, Liuzhou City, approximately 22 kilometers from the world-renowned Chengyang Bridge and the Chengyang Eight Villages scenic area. It is one of the most significant ethnic, ecological, leisure, and photography tourism spots in Guangxi’s Linxi–Bajiang Scenic Area. The name “Gaoyou Dong Village” comes from a heartwarming and picturesque story—the direct Chinese translation of the village’s Dong-language name means “Friend of the High Mountains.” Historical records indicate that Gaoyou Dong Village was established during the TianShun era of the Ming Dynasty, boasting a history of over 540 years. Today, it is home to more than 400 households and around 1,820 Dong people. The village is surrounded by green bamboo and guarded by pine and fir trees, featuring a unique landscape and a rich, colorful Dong ethnic culture.
