The Teng Daiyuan Memorial Hall and Former Residence is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a classic red tourism site, and a patriotic education base.

The Teng Daiyuan Memorial Hall was completed on November 2, 1986. It is a two-story modern palace-style brick-concrete structure in a traditional Chinese architectural style. Funded by the Ministry of Railways, provincial, municipal, and county governments, it covers an area of 6,300 square meters, with a building area of 1,182 square meters and an exhibition area of over 500 square meters. On November 2, 2004, on the 100th anniversary of Teng Daiyuan’s birth, the hall underwent comprehensive renovation and decoration, with the exhibitions fully updated and redesigned, giving the site a completely renewed look. The exhibits include nearly 400 cultural relics such as photos, objects, documents, and letters from various revolutionary periods of Comrade Teng Daiyuan’s life, as well as inscriptions by central and other leading comrades. It comprehensively showcases the arduous journey Teng Daiyuan undertook in the establishment of New China and the development of socialist construction. Through its displays, the memorial educates future generations. It is now a provincial patriotic education base, part of the province’s Red Tourism 13530 Premium Route and Project, and a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Teng Daiyuan Former Residence is located in Daipopo Village, Yanmen Town. The residence is a Qing Dynasty-era civilian house and is a key provincial cultural relic protection unit, a patriotic education base, and one of the premium sites for red tourism. On November 2, 2004, on the 100th anniversary of Teng Daiyuan’s birth, the former residence was fully renovated and opened to the public. In the past two years, it has successfully received over 20,000 visits from central, provincial, and municipal leaders and tourists. Currently, in line with the construction of a new socialist countryside, comprehensive efforts are underway to explore the deeper meanings of red tourism, improve all foundational aspects of red tourism at the residence, expand and strengthen the impact of red tourism, and promote regional economic development.

Life and Achievements: Teng Daiyuan was from Daipopo, Yanmen Town, Mayang County. He was a revered proletarian revolutionary, a founder of the people’s army, and a pioneer of China’s railway industry.
