Mayang Jinjiang National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Mayang Jinjiang National Wetland Park mainly includes the Jinjiang River, Yaoli River, Huangtuxi Reservoir, Taipingxi, Ciji River, as well as the surrounding ecological conservation forests and green spaces. The planned total area is 1,918.8 hectares, with wetland area covering 1,566.1 hectares, accounting for 81.6% of the park. The wetland park centers around the Jinjiang River, supplemented by its major tributaries and reservoirs, and characterized by typical mountain rivers and sandbars. It forms a composite ecosystem of reservoirs, rivers, streams, forests, and urban areas, which is highly representative and typical in China’s southern mountainous regions.

Jinjiang National Wetland Park is not only located along the central route of China’s three major migratory bird flyways, but also within the Wuling Mountain Area Biological Diversity and Soil and Water Conservation Ecological Function Zone—one of China’s 25 key national ecological function zones—and has been incorporated into the Wuling Region Development and Poverty Alleviation Planning framework.

Mayang boasts beautiful mountains and clear waters, often described as having “endless pine and cypress trees, and high mountains with perennially flowing clear water.” The county has a forest coverage rate of 66%, and is known as China’s Longevity County and China’s Crystal Sugar Orange County. It features a sound ecological system, with vast and pristine wetland waters, picturesque scenery, serene rural river wetlands, delicate urban river wetlands, and unique multi-sandbar landscapes.
